No Nonsense

For the past week i've been busy with uni...
busy having fun that is =)
On tuesday we had like a 6 hours of break in between our two classes. So me,Lisa and Sandra went to ou to hang out for abit. At the beginning Sandra wasn't with us, so Lisa and I were just walking around going into shops we found interesting and looking for my slippers. Finally i found them and i bought one for bi too. =P Lisa and I fell in love with this shop called Craft Haven or something like that. It really was like heaven. That shop has been there for ages and this was the first time ever i've been into it and it was awesome (sorry..i know i'm really jakun).
Anyways after that, we just walked around aimlessly as i had already gotten my pair of slippers, then Sandra came and we had lunch at BK's till like 12 and we still had lots of time to spare. So we decided to watch a movie...which was Drillbit Taylor starring Owen Wilson.

Rawrrr....

Classes are fine except that our lecturers' english isn't that good.. so most of the time we are trying to figure out what she's talking about..and one day we even caught her making a really obvious spelling mistake.
Gosh!!! and she even told us that she has a masters in mass comm.

solittized

Yesterday n today i've had orientation. First day was kind of a bore except for meeting the girls.. they're really nice and friendly. Some of the lecturers are so funny. Nice people...

As for today it was ok...went for breakfast with the girls then headed over to the hall. Listened to a talk from the head of department.. funny guy. Then we're guided on which subjects to take and how the timetable works. So complicating..lol. So we finally decided on which subjects to take and registered.
Went home after. *which is now* haha..
and i'm so super tired.. gonna fall asleep any second now

Will be going to klcc for the premiere of 'Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' later tonight..so i probably should go take nappy b4 tonightty so that i wont fall asleep during the movie. hehe..

Tomorrows gonna be a holiday for me..no class and no more orientation. Weeee!!!
I need to go shopping.... =)

Good morning peeps N Happy Wesak Day

I desperately need to get back to sleeping at nights and up during the day. I've been doing it the other way round since i've been on hols. Terrible huh? I always get scolded by my parents for wasting my life away by sleeping thru the day. =P

Anyways, probably gonna drop by ou later. Gotta get my watch adjusted plus look for new flats... can't seem to find one that i like so far. Geram!!!

why ?

Have u ever wondered why wedding rings are worn on the left hands fourth finger?

The chinese gave an explanation that....
the thumb represents your parents
the second (index) finger represents your siblings the middle finger represents yourself
the fourth (ring) finger represents your life partner
and lastly the last ( little) finger represents your children

Firstly, open your palms (face to face)...
bend the middle fingers and hold them together back to back.
Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and thumb together (tip to tip)

*like so*

Now try to separate your thumbs (representing your parents)...
-They will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong.-
Join your thumbs as before and separate your index fingers (representing siblings)...
-They will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to live their own separate lives.-
Now join the index fingers and separate your little fingers (representing your children)...
-They will open too, because your children also will get married and settle down on their own someday.-
Finally, join your little fingers and try to separate your ring fingers (representing your spouse)...
-You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT, because husband & wife have to remain together all their lives - through thick and thin =) -

Lovely theory.. It sounds quite practical, doesn't it?? =P

Another explanation was that,
before medical science discovered how the circulatory system functioned, people believed that a vein of blood ran directly from the fourth finger on the left hand to the heart
(this belief allegedly dates to the 3rd century BC in Greece)
Because of the hand-heart connection, people named the putative vein descriptively vena amori.
(Latin for 'the vein of love)
Due to this tradition, it became accepted to wear the wedding ring on this finger. By wearing rings on the fourth finger of their left hands, a married couple symbolically declares their eternal love for each other.

In most Western cultures, the wedding ring is worn on the left hand. In some countries, however, such as Germany, Norway, and Chile, it is worn on the right hand.
Orthodox Christians, Eastern Europeans and Jews also traditionally wear the wedding band on their right hand.
